*In this document, the term “latex” refers to rubber latex and includes products made from dried natural rubber. Rubber latex is the product manufactured from a milky fluid derived primarily from the rubber tree, Hevea brasiliensis.
A wide range of products contain latex: medical supplies, personal protective equipment and numerous household items. Many people who use latex products generally do not experience health problems with their use. The target of this Alert is workers who use these products frequently. The following are examples of products that may contain latex.
Healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, dentists, technicians, etc.) who use latex gloves frequently are at risk for allergic reactions to latex. Also at risk are those workers such as hairdressers, housekeepers, food service workers, etc., who, although less frequently, use latex gloves and, of course, employees of industries that manufacture latex products.

The pH is a measure of the hydrogen ion concentration of a solution. Solutions with a high concentration of hydrogen ions have a low pH and solutions with low concentrations of H+ ions have a high pH.
A simple way to measure pH is to use reagent or litmus papers, sold on eBay. These come with a color scale where you can check the result, and their use is very simple.
Just dip the paper in the substance (in this case, in the foam of the cleansers or the cleanser as you apply it to your skin) and contrast the result. It is very important that before making these measurements, you measure the pH of the water you use, as it can negatively affect the result. The ideal is to use water with pH 7.
You should also maintain proper proportions of the product you will measure (in case of cleaners that you need to mix with water) before making the measurement. Follow the instructions on the pH strips.
It has been established that the recovery time of the acid mantle after being exposed to pH 8 water is 2 hours. Hence the importance of having a pH soap suitable for the skin, or if possible, a balancing facial toner (some low pH serums are also useful, although it is not the idea to use them for this purpose).
